Bud+Breakfast™ mentioned in Complex Magazine's 2014 Recap

Joel Schneider, an attorney from Long Island, moved to Denver with his wife Lisa in February to open Bud + Breakfast at The Adagio, a cozy mom-and-pop operation offering next-level wake-and-bake services. “This is my dream,” he says. “It’s my passion. I took over a public company with the purpose of buying businesses in the marijuana space, to be a part of the beginning.”

Here guests pay up to $399 per night to stay in Schneider’s cannabis-friendly inn — where they’re treated with morning “wake and bake” sessions over a gourmet breakfast, where afternoon happy hours start at 4:20 and where turndown service means a silver platter filled with glasses of milk and plates of THC-infused cookies.“It’s like the Hotel California. You check in and you never check out. People want to stay. They really want to stay.” he said.

Schneider said that since he opened his doors, not only has business been good, it’s been great, with visitors arriving from all over the world. He is already booking into next spring. It’s a classic if-you-build-it-they-will-come scenario: Schneider saw a need for legal places for tourists to indulge in cannabis. He built it. They came.

Joel Schneider believes in pot.

He always has. The longtime New York securities lawyer says he has always smoked it — probably always will. In fact, he believed in pot — legal pot — so much that he left his 30-year law career behind, packed up his life and moved to Denver, where he and his wife became the new owners of a bed and breakfast.

Except he calls his a bud and breakfast.

MaryJane Group CEO Joel Schneider Discusses The Cannabis Hospitality Business

For all the talk about marijuana as a business, it's still a business geared towards people enjoying themselves. And the MaryJane Group (OTC: MJMJ) considers itself the cannabis industry's leading hospitality firm.

The company provides Colorado-based businesses with marketing, advertising and entertainment services geared towards recreational marijuana users through several wholly-owned subsidiaries; this includes a cannabis-friendly bed-and-breakfast hotel in Denver (it's still illegal to smoke marijuana in public in Colorado), cannabis industry tours and its marijuana-oriented glassworks facility.

Denver Is Getting Its First 'Bud+Breakfast™' Soon. Yes, Really.

The legalization of recreational marijuana in Colorado has paved the way for more pot-focused businesses, including the state’s first marijuana-friendly hotel.

Since January, when Colorado legalized recreational marijuana use, a so-called pot tourism industry has quickly gained traction, with private clubs, tours and shops catering to curious patrons. (Just remember: Don’t bring that weed on the plane home.) And while there’s some weed-friendly lodging in the state (more often through Airbnb than traditional hotels), there hasn’t yet been a hotel that explicitly caters to smokers—until now.

A Weed 'Bud+Breakfast™' Is Opening In Denver, Like You Didn't See That One Coming

Many rejoiced when marijuana was legalized in Colorado last year, allowing it to be sold in vending machines and shops across the state. But marijuana lovers have something else to be flying high about — the nation’s first weed ‘bud and breakfast’ in Denver. We have a feeling it will be particularly difficult to book a room there once it opens in May, and it’ll certainly establish a trendy new way to visit Colorado.

With recreational marijuana now legal in Colorado, businesses both in and out of state have been inspired to create such offerings as weed and sushi pairings and melty weed pizza. Now, the owners of the Adagio Bed and Breakfast signed a one-year lease with a company that will soon be known as "The MaryJane Group, Inc." Ahem.

There's About to Be a "Bud+Breakfast™" in Denver

Denver's soon-to-be newest Bed and Breakfast is exactly what you think it is. Oh, man, I have so many jokes lined up for this.

Guests staying at the "Bud N' Breakfast" — that's their name for it, don't blame me — will receive "unlimited food, drink and, of course, the best marijuana and marijuana edibles Colorado has to offer." Here's how disconnected from the American drug scene I am: it took me a couple minutes of pondering to figure out what the hell "marijuana edibles" were. Anyway, there's also going to be an "on-site chef available to prepare gourmet foods cooked to order" (read: "we have a guy with an enormous box of Funyuns"), and they're going to "provide unlimited luxury transportation within the Denver city limits with 24-hour security" ("we're going to drive you around the block a few times at 20 mph, only you'll think you're going at speeds that would make the Millenium Falcon blush").

Now that recreational marijuana is legal in Colorado, an enterprising company is setting up a weed-centric play on a bed and breakfast — a "bud and breakfast"— in Denver. According to a press release, a company that will soon be known as "The MaryJane Group, Inc." has signed a one-year lease with the owners of the Adagio Bed and Breakfast, which it plans to transform into its "pilot project in the marijuana-friendly lodging industry."

Guests who stay at this take on a B&B will be given a package that includes "unlimited food, drink and, of course, the best marijuana and marijuana edibles Colorado has to offer." There will also be an "on-site chef available to prepare gourmet foods cooked to order" and they will "provide unlimited luxury transportation within the Denver city limits with 24-hour security."
